This page explains what each button and control does in the London Topographical Test Training Suite. Use it as a quick guide when practising routes, using exam mode, checking history, or creating teacher model answers.
Account & Subscription
User
Shows the current user email stored in the browser. If no user is active, it will show Guest.
Plan
Shows your access level. Trial users can access limited maps. Pro members can access all maps and Exam Mode.
Admin Login
Used to unlock Teacher Mode. This is for creating or editing model routes, start pins, and finish pins.
Open Admin LoginLogout
Clears local subscription and user details stored in the browser on that device.
Subscribe
Opens the payment page to upgrade to Pro access.
Redeem Code
Opens the code entry area. Enter a valid code to activate Pro access.
Activate Full Access
Checks the code with the server and activates the subscription if the code is valid.
Subscription Status
Shows whether your account is currently in Trial or Pro Access mode.
Map Controls
Map Selection
Choose the map you want to practise on. Locked maps are only available to Pro users.
Fit View
Resets the map size and position so the full map fits neatly inside the screen.
Pan: ON / OFF
When Pan is ON, you can drag the map around instead of drawing. Turn it OFF to continue route drawing.
Zoom +
Zooms into the map for more precise route drawing.
Zoom -
Zooms out from the map.
Zoom Percentage
Displays the current zoom level relative to the fitted starting view.
Mouse Grab (Drag Map)
Click and hold the mouse to grab and move the map.This is useful when zoomed in, allowing you to position the map precisely before continuing your route.
Practice Controls
Practice Tab
Main working area for route drawing and exam practice.
Draw Route
Lets you draw your answer route point by point on the map.
Straight Line
Creates a direct line between the start and finish. Useful for quick testing, but not usually suitable for a real road route.
Exam: ON / OFF
Starts or stops timed exam mode. When time runs out, the app automatically submits your route.
3 / 5 / 10 min
Sets the exam timer duration before you start exam mode.
Timer Display
Shows how much time is left during exam mode.
Route Colour
Changes the colour of the route you draw.
Route Width
Changes the thickness of the route line.
Pin Size
Changes the size of the start and finish pin markers shown on the map.
Undo
Removes the last point added to your current route.
Clear
Removes the full route so you can start again.
Submit Answer
Compares your route with the model route and shows your result, score, route length difference, and deviation.
Show answer after submit
If ticked, the correct model route will appear after submitting your answer.
Result Box
Displays feedback such as score, route quality, average deviation, and length comparison.
Teacher Mode
Teacher Tab
This tab is for admins only. It allows model answer creation and editing.
Set Start Pin
Places the start pin for the model route.
Set Finish Pin
Places the finish pin for the model route.
Draw Model Route
Draws the official answer route used for comparison against the student route.
Undo
Removes the last model point added.
Clear
Clears the model route and both model pins.
Download model JSON
Downloads the model route data as a JSON file so it can be saved and reused.
History
History Tab
Shows saved attempts from the current browser.
When
Shows the date and time when the route attempt was submitted.
Map
Shows the map title used for that attempt.
Score
Shows the percentage score achieved for that attempt.
Len diff
Shows the percentage difference between your route length and the model route length.
Certificate
Opens a printable result page for that saved attempt.
Clear History
Deletes saved route attempts from the current browser.
